From fresh seafood on the coast to whisky tastings in Speyside, the north and north‑east are full of flavours worth slowing down for.

Cooking in Your VDub

Your VDub campervan gives you the freedom to eat wherever the view inspires you. Brew your morning coffee beside a quiet loch, cook dinner as the sun sets over the hills, or enjoy a cosy lunch tucked away in a forest car park. With your kitchen always with you, you can keep things relaxed, spontaneous and delicious.

Local farm shops and village stores are dotted all over the region, perfect for picking up fresh bread, local cheeses, seasonal veg and treats you won’t find anywhere else. It’s all part of the joy of travelling slowly and supporting the communities you pass through.

Local Eats & Hidden Gems

If you prefer to let someone else do the cooking, Scotland’s north‑east has no shortage of great places to eat. Think hearty pub meals, seafood straight off the boat, artisan bakeries and cafés serving up homemade cakes. Many small towns and coastal villages have their own specialities, from Cullen Skink to fresh langoustines, and discovering them is half the fun.

Whisky, Gin & Local Drinks

No trip to this part of Scotland is complete without sampling the local spirits. Speyside alone is home to more than half of Scotland’s whisky distilleries, each with its own character and story. Many offer tours and tastings, making it easy to learn a little and sip a little along the way.

If whisky isn’t your thing, the north‑east also has a growing number of craft gin distilleries, microbreweries, and cider makers.  Great for stocking the van with something special for the evening (just remember to enjoy responsibly once you’re parked up for the night).
