To keep things simple, here’s a quick guide to the licence requirements for UK, European and international drivers:
UK: No - a standard UK driving licence (Category B) is all you need. Drivers must be aged 21–78 with at least two years’ driving experience. A DVLA licence check will be requested before your hire (normally 4 weeks in advance, or at the point of booking if your trip is sooner).
Europe: European driving licence is accepted. (No DVLA check required)
Rest of the world: International drivers may need to provide extra details for insurance purposes. We will provide a simple form to complete, and aim to get back to you with any additional requirements within 48 working hours.
On collection we’ll need a photo of your driving licence (front and back), two proofs of address, and to confirm the answers to all insurance questions have been provided.
Please allow up to 30 minutes for the handover. We’ll walk you through all the campercampervan features and do a full walk‑round together to confirm the campervan’s condition before you set off. We also recommend taking your own photos or a quick video for peace of mind.
